"Aira apenas podía ver el azul del cielo pero notó cómo los copos empezaban a caer sobre su cuerpo tendido. En pocos minutos cubrirían su cuerpo y yacería allí sin que nadie supiese qué había sido de ella. Sentía una honda tristeza por los amigos que dejaba atrás, sus compañeros de academia, sus camaradas de división…. Ahora que todo estaba saldado…. Lamentaba no haberse despedido. Una fría calma blanca y helada le decía que pronto aquello no importaría. "
